RESPONSIBILITIES

At the Experimental Animal Unit, we are responsible for national animal protection regulations and the various types of permits and approvals required for experimental animal activities in Sweden. We also work with international experimental animal issues and provide guidance to control authorities. The unit also includes Sweden's 3R-center, which compiles and disseminates current research and knowledge within the 3R area (replace, reduce, and refine animal experiments). The unit consists of two teams: the administration team and the 3R team. A total of 14 people work at the unit.

You will join the administration team at the unit, where ten employees currently work. The role primarily involves processing various cases, including approval of experimental animal facilities, operational licenses for breeding and using experimental animals, and facilities for genetically modified animals. Depending on your background, other tasks within the experimental animal field may also occur, such as regulatory issues, improvement work, or coordination matters, but the main responsibility will be case processing.

Working with issues within the Experimental Animal Unit's areas of responsibility involves extensive contact with our customers, who are researchers, universities, other authorities, and interest organizations. This contact involves, for example, answering questions and guiding customers correctly, but also developing our collaborations and operations.

We are now looking for another colleague to join the team for a period due to an upcoming parental leave.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a relevant academic education in natural sciences, or who are a domestic animal agronomist. Alternatively, you have acquired equivalent competence through work experience. You have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both written and spoken, and good knowledge of English.

It is an advantage if you have worked within the experimental animal field, have experience working with regulations and/or public authority operations. If you have experience with animal protection issues, such as pre-testing, this is also an advantage.
